This Privacy Policy explains how Galaxy Weblinks ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when merchants use the Text Pilot application ("App").

1. About the App

Text Pilot is a translation management app built specifically for Shopify Hydrogen storefronts.

While Shopify provides translation support for many native resources, developers often have additional website text such as buttons, headings, navigation labels, banners, forms, and other custom content that is hardcoded into their Hydrogen application. Managing these translations with JSON files, custom code, or third-party services can quickly become difficult as your store grows.

Text Pilot solves this by storing your custom translations directly in Shopify Metaobjects. This allows you to manage all of your website translations from the Shopify Admin without maintaining separate translation files or external translation databases.

2. Who Can Access the App

The App is available exclusively to:

  • Shopify store owners (merchants)
  • Authorized Shopify staff accounts with specific access permissions granted by the store owner

Customers and public storefront visitors cannot access, interact with, or use the App under any circumstances.

3. Information We Access

When a merchant installs the App, we may access limited Shopify store information required for secure authentication and native app functionality, including:

  • Store domain
  • Shop ID
  • Authentication and session tokens
  • Shopify staff account information provided directly by Shopify

This information is utilized strictly to provide secure access to the App and its specific internal modules.

4. Resource Data Processing

The App may process Shopify storefront translation keys, target languages, and Shopify Metaobjects when a merchant intentionally initiates an action within the App.

We do not collect, copy, or store your store translations or resources for unrelated purposes. Translation data is temporarily accessed only when strictly required to execute translation updates, imports, or synchronization tasks requested by the merchant.

When a merchant initiates an auto-translation action, the App sends the source text to third-party translation endpoints (including Google Translate endpoints and public translation proxies such as Lingva) to perform the translation. This text does not contain merchant-identifiable or customer-identifiable information.

5. History and Session Records

Unlike standard applications that store historical database backups on third-party servers, Text Pilot does not maintain or store logs of your translation history or old value states on our servers.

Any undo operations or draft reviews occur entirely within your active browser session prior to saving, and all saved translations are committed directly and securely to your Shopify store's Metaobjects.

6. How We Use Information

We use the accessed information to:

  • Authenticate merchants and authorized staff users safely
  • Operate, maintain, and protect the App framework
  • Perform requested translation management and synchronization operations accurately
  • Keep active session states for current editor drafts
  • Provide effective customer and technical support
  • Improve app performance, framework structure, and security mitigations
  • Troubleshoot background technical issues

We do not sell merchant data, nor do we use merchant information for external marketing or advertising profiles.

7. Embedded Shopify App

Text Pilot is built explicitly as an embedded Shopify Admin application. It functions natively and exclusively within the secure Shopify Admin environment and does not provide public storefront tracking or customer-facing trackers. Your storefront reads translations directly from Shopify's secure Metaobjects.

8. Billing

Text Pilot offers both Free and Paid subscription plans. The Free Plan ($0/month) includes support for one language definition, standard translation management, and auto translation for new content. The Advance Plan ($5/month) offers unlimited supported languages, translation key synchronization, and automatic bulk translation. All billing and recurring subscription charges are processed securely through Shopify's official Billing API. Merchants can cancel their paid subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, the subscription is immediately downgraded to the Free Plan. All future recurring charges are halted, and any remaining billing adjustments are handled directly by Shopify's billing system.

9. Data Security and Retention

We deploy robust technical and organizational infrastructure to shield information, including secure handshake authentication, and standard Shopify access boundaries.

Information is retained only for as long as necessary to provide core App components, manage user history tabs, handle support tickets, and comply with platform obligations. Data is automatically removed after the App is uninstalled in accordance with Shopify data deletion requirements.
